How the route runs
Concord lies northeast of Charlotte, and the trip from CLT follows I-85 almost the whole way. Concord Mills and the Speedway sit off the interstate near Bruton Smith Boulevard, while downtown Concord is further east around Union Street. Travelers flying to the Concord area can also use Concord-Padgett Regional Airport, which is closer to the Speedway than CLT.
Race weekends
On NASCAR weekends at Charlotte Motor Speedway, traffic builds on I-85, U.S. 29, NC 49 and Bruton Smith Boulevard for hours before and after the race. Name your lot, gate or hotel, and expect post-race egress to take much longer than a normal Concord trip. If you want the car available after the race, book hourly so it can be staged instead of dispatched again.
